watercolor wedding invitations

I remember the first time I saw Alicia’s custom stationary suite (invitations, RVSP card, table cards etc), and I thought, “WOW, this looks and feels amazing!” After chatting with Alicia about her designs, she informed me that all illustrations are hand-painted with watercolor, and a copy of the original artwork for all custom designs is included for her brides! I am so happy to recommend Alicia to my brides, as her work is truly unique and heartfelt.

Here is a quick interview with Alicia as she provides a little more insight on how she can help brides take their wedding invitation and stationery suite to the next level.

When did you love for watercolor begin?

My love for watercolour began after experimenting with several different mediums in school. I loved the airiness and delicate nature of watercolour.  It can be soft and light, or dark and moody, so the versatility is great.

How do you describe your style?

I would describe my style as a more detailed and modern take on watercolour. I like to think of it as a slightly stylized and sometimes whimsical version of reality 🙂

What do you like most about providing custom stationery for brides?

What I most like about providing custom stationery to brides and grooms is sending over the proof, knowing that it’s a perfect mix of their vision with my twist and style! It makes me super happy when my couples are excited to receive them, and of course send them out.  I also love the thought of my Custom clients having their painting hanging in their home – SO cool!

What is your #1 advice to brides when looking for invitation / stationery suite for their wedding?

When looking for wedding stationery, couples should really consider how the Invitations (or Save-the-Dates) are the very first piece of the wedding that their guests will see.  It absolutely sets the tone for the big day, so it feels comfortable for the guests to arrive to an aesthetic that they anticipate from the invitation.  A cohesive aesthetic/theme/colour palette can really make a wedding at any price point feel perfectly put together, so day-of stationery like placecards/menus/table can really pull that theme through.

Aside from stationery design, what is something else you can be found enjoying?

Aside from painting and designing stationery, I can be found crafting (I’m currently experimenting with macrame and embroidery), playing soccer, or hiking 🙂
